If you are using your aircraft 500 to 600 hours a year or plan to expand your aircraft use to that level you might have too many potential scheduling conflicts to make chartering of your aircraft practical. Conversely, if you and your business will be at the lower end of utilization—perhaps 100-200 hours a year —leasing your business aircraft to recoup some of your costs might be a viable option.

There are other factors that can make leasing more or less possible. For example, if your own use will exceed 200 hours per year, but the majority of it will be at regularly scheduled times, chartering could still be a good option for you
